Lithium-ion batteries (LIB) are seeing more and more use in applications ranging from portable devices to electric vehicles, due to their superior energy density.
With the ever-increasing demands for lighter, thinner, and higher-capacity batteries, LIBs still require more research to determine additives and materials that could further improve their behavior.
The various cathode chemistries have different limitations, such as low specific capacity or low electrical conductivity. MWCNT additives could be used to improve these characteristics and the overall performance of LIBs.
