We would like to inform the investors about the following facts related to the announcing of the results from the company’s activities for the first quarter of 2007
1. The company has made revenue from sales in the amount of 25 469 000 Leva for the first quarter of 2007 – that is an increase with 31percent compared to the same period of 2006
2. The export of “Monbat” PLC for the first quarter of 2007 has increased with 40 percent compared with the same period of 2006. The main markets of the company remain Germany, Belgium, Holland and England. A considerable increase is noted in the exports for the Czech Republic, Italy and Poland. A decrease is noted in the imports for Romania, Serbia and Macedonia because of climate changes.
3. The realized profit for the first quarter of 2007 is 3 292 000 Leva which is an increase with 106 percent compared to the same period of 2006
4. In the production were implemented new machines and installations. An installation “Expander Metal” has been purchased, that replaces the whole production process of the plates of the accumulators, which considerably increases the technological process in the company. As support for the “Expander Metal” installation a new mill section for lead oxide has been purchased and implemented. Because of the increased capacity of the production line a new tunnel drier “Optimaiu” has been purchased and implemented. A new assembling line for accumulators has been purchased and implemented in order to further increase the production capacity. The execution of the contracts for the purchase of installations for recycling of accumulators has begun in the first quarter of 2007 for Monbat PLC and the foreign company Monbat PLC D.O.O., Indjia, Serbia.
5. The long-term financial assets for the first quarter of 2007 are 3 413 000 leva, which is a result of the purchase of a bigger part of the capital of “BAT Holding” PLC and the increase in the investment in the foreign company Monbat PLC D.O.O. Indjia, Serbia to 3 041 315 leva
In “Start” PLC Dobritch, in which “BAT Holding” PLC is a major owner a reconstruction and modernization of the production has begun, which is expected to end at the end of July 2007.
